What Are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are artificial tooth roots made from durable titanium, designed to integrate with your jawbone for a secure foundation for replacement teeth. Unlike removable dentures or bridges, implants offer long-term stability and comfort.

Dental implants provide a natural-looking, permanent solution that restores both function and aesthetics to your smile.

Why Choose Dental Implants?

Dental implants are a fantastic choice for replacing missing teeth for a variety of reasons:

  • Preserve healthy teeth: Unlike bridges, implants don’t require altering or damaging surrounding healthy teeth.
  • Restore full function: Implants can restore the ability to chew, speak, and smile naturally, improving your overall quality of life.
  • Whole-health approach: The process of getting implants is designed to integrate seamlessly with your oral health, and they can help maintain your facial structure by preventing bone loss, which can occur when teeth are missing.
  • Long-lasting solution: Implants are strong, durable, and designed to last for many years with proper care, providing a permanent solution to tooth loss.

The Dental Implant Process

Our goal is to make the dental implant process as smooth and efficient as possible. Most of the treatment can be done in-house, with some more complex cases being referred to specialists.

Our team is with you every step of the way and is more than happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have.

Consultation & Planning

During your initial visit, we’ll perform a thorough examination, including digital scans, to assess the health of your jawbone and gums. We will discuss your goals and develop a personalized treatment plan, making sure it aligns with your whole-health needs.

We’ll also determine if you need additional procedures like bone grafts or gum grafts to begin the procedure.

Once your treatment plan is ready, we’ll place the titanium implant into the jawbone under local anesthesia. If needed, we may recommend a bone graft to ensure the implant has the best foundation.

This part of the process typically takes a few months for the bone to heal and fully integrate with the implant.

After the implant has fused with your jawbone, the next step is to attach the crown, bridge, or denture to the implant. This is when you’ll see your new, permanent smile come together! Depending on your case, this phase may take a few weeks to complete.
